A meet with the winners!! - An evening well spent

The awe of IIM inspires everyone. I am not the odd man out. I have always exclaimed, “What it takes to be in IIM? How do these people differ from us??” Every MBA aspirant in India would have raised these question at least once. But I was fortunate enough to meet two of the most successful IIM-A alumnus.

That Saturday evening was perfect in every way. With cool breeze from Marina, I was in Landmark, Citi centre for the second book launch, “Connecting the dots” by Rashmi Bansal. The launch was presided over by Orchid chemicals CEO, Mr. Raghavendra Rao and Hot Breads founder, Mr.Mahadevan.

Only by that afternoon I had finished Ms.Bansal’s first book, “Stay hungry and stay foolish.” The achievements of those magnificent entrepreneurs made my way for attending a book launch, for the first time.

It was a different experience on its own. I was completely overwhelmed to be surrounded by people of an illustrious career and a magnanimous knowledge. When these persons spoke, they sounded humble and considerate, which people like us have to learn. Their persona clearly depicted that it was not lady luck that made them what they are today.

I was personally more influenced by Mr. Rao. He’s the man, who has built a $300 million pharma company out of his own passion and perseverance. This man just not inspires, but stimulate you to tread your own path. My heart beat harder and quicker just being beside him, speaking on my ideas and goals. That explains the awe I was in.

Follow your dream with passion. Go behind excellence. Success will follow you.

These were the simple words uttered by Aamir Khan in 3 idiots. These same words enthralled me then; but after confronting these SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEURS it has enslaved me. Such is their cloudless mind, dynamiting attitude and fired instinct.

I am glad that I met them and will always cherish their autographs and photographs; with my mind pursuing my dream incessantly as like them.
